PANCHAKARMA
your healing begins here
Panchakarma offers a path home to yourself. This is not a quick fix—it’s a slow, intentional process of deep restoration, designed to clear what no longer serves and rebuild from the inside out. With ancient wisdom as your guide, this journey meets you where you are—and walks with you back to balance.
Welcome to your Panchakarma
Panchakarma is a sacred series of therapies designed to release toxins, restore vitality, and renew the intelligence of the body.
A cleansed body has significant impact on reversing disease and promoting even more vitality in healthy individuals. The accumulation of toxins overtaxes the body’s ability to release impurities and creates weakness in body tissue and sluggish mental function. Panchakarma effectively stimulates the body’s release of toxins which supports the immune system and therefore brings about deep healing .
*In order to book a Panchakarma, you must first book a consultation – an in-depth analysis that I use to tailor the herbs, oils, and therapies to your unique prakruti (constitution). Email to book your consultation.
Panchakarma Therapies:
-
Oil therapy to by means of drenching the patient with medicated herbal oils to relax and rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit.
Pizhichil is one of the preparatory treatments for Panchakarma . It consists of both oleation (oiling) and sudation (sweating). It is a process by which the body is made to perspire by means of pouring warm medicated oil from a certain height in a rhythmic manner and is rubbed into the body. According to the Doshic predominance and constitution the medicated oil may vary. -
A full body massage, with medicated herbal oils, is performed in a synchronized manner.
This therapy treats the whole person: body, mind and spirit while balancing the doshas or the individual’s energy patterns. The rhythmic motion helps to release joints and relax muscles for greater freedom of movement. This stimulating treatment increases blood circulation and encourages the elimination of metabolic wastes. Abhyanga provides relief from anxiety, fatigue, circulatory disorders, rheumatic and arthritic problems, backaches and injuries. -
Lukewarm herbal oil is gently poured in a continuous stream onto the forehead.
Used after a massage, Shirodhara soothes away mental stress and results in a profound sense of relaxation and inner peace. This therapy is highly effective in treating insomnia, depression, anxiety, headaches, hypertension, whiplash, and other neurological malfunctions. -
Full body application of herbal oil plus steam bath.
Warm herbal oil is first applied all over the body. The individual is then placed in a steam chamber which enclosed the body from the neck down. As the chamber fills with medicinal herbal steam, the body will perspire profusely, releasing impurities from deep within the layers of the skin. The result is toned skin and a purified body. -
Nasya
Therapeutic massage for the nose, throat, sinuses and head.
The individual is massaged from the chest to the top of the head with specific herbal oil in specific movement patterns. This promotes perspiration and therefore purification of these areas. It is a significant remedy for congestion, allergies, sinusitis, headaches, and migraines and allows the return to full easy breathing. -
Sacred Oiling of the Ears
A quieting ritual for the nervous system, Karna Purana is the Ayurvedic practice of gently pouring warm, medicated oil into the ears — the gateway between inner and outer worlds.
The ears are ruled by Vata, the dosha of wind and movement. In a world of constant noise and stimulation, Karna Purana calms this subtle sense organ, restoring stillness to the mind and grounding to the body.
This therapy nourishes the delicate tissues of the inner ear, softens tension in the jaw and neck, soothes anxiety, supports deep sleep, and can help relieve ringing, dizziness, or imbalances in equilibrium. As the oil settles, it invokes a deep silence — a return to listening from within.
A gesture of profound care for those who live with heightened sensitivity, overstimulation, or the ache of too much doing.
-

This method of treatment has proved its efficacy in various diseases related with vagina and menstruation and helps in fertility. While performing Yoni Dhupana, the medicinal properties from the herbs blend with the heat from the steam and reaches the outer vaginal wall and thereafter the medicinal property is absorbed by the inner layer of vagina which stimulates the vestibular fossa, Bartholin glands etc., thereby helps in balancing the secretions and stagnation within the vaginal area. Ayurveda offers two approaches to healing:
Shamana — to soothe the symptoms, and
Shodhana — to trace the root and release it.
Panchakarma is both.
It is not a quick fix, but a sacred process — a ritual of deep purification. A slow, intentional unbinding of what no longer serves. Toxins held within the tissues are gently stirred, drawn back toward the digestive fire, where they can be metabolized and alchemized. What the body has been holding — physically, emotionally, energetically — is given the chance to be transformed and released.
No two journeys are the same. Each therapy is tailored to your specific constitution, season, and current state of imbalance. Panchakarma, meaning “five actions,” is a classical Ayurvedic system of detoxification and renewal. Traditionally spanning 5 to 21 days, this immersive experience uses the foundational tools of Ayurveda — a simplified, nourishing diet; plant medicines; warm medicated oils; and daily therapies — to return the body to a state of equilibrium.
Over time, the burden of undigested experiences, environmental toxins, and emotional residue begins to lift. The body softens. The mind clears. Agni, the digestive fire, is rekindled. Ojas — the essence of vitality — is restored. Disease is prevented, and health, in its truest sense, is remembered.

Preparation | Purva Karma
Panchakarma begins before you ever arrive. The days leading up to your treatment are a soft descent — a gentle unraveling of the outer world and a return to inner stillness. You’ll receive detailed guidance tailored to your constitution, and I will prepare a personalized self-care package for you, including all the essential medicated ghees, digestive formulas, and herbal remedies to support your journey.
In general, preparation includes:
Eating a warm, simple Ayurvedic diet (think: kitchari, broths, stewed vegetables)
Avoiding cold, raw, processed, or overly heavy foods
Reducing stimulation — less screen time, fewer external commitments, early nights
Internal oleation with the medicated ghees from your self-care package, taken each morning
Herbal support to loosen and mobilize toxins
A mild purgation (such as castor oil) before your session
This sacred slowing allows your system to enter treatment receptive, softened, and safe.
Aftercare | Paschat Karma
The days following Panchakarma are a time of integration and re-entry. The body is open, clear, and sensitive — much like new skin. Honor this liminal space with care.Post-treatment guidance includes:
Eating light, warm, nourishing meals (continuing kitchari or soups)
Resting as much as possible — no strenuous activity, travel, or stress
Avoiding loud environments, cold exposure, alcohol, sexual activity, and overstimulation
Continuing gentle herbal support and home therapies such as oiling or enemas (as directed)
Letting insights and shifts settle without forcing clarity
The more tenderly you tend the afterglow, the more fully the benefits of Panchakarma can root.

At RASA VEDA, Panchakarma is offered in two distinct forms: a full immersive journey or a one-day reset — both grounded in the classical wisdom of Ayurveda and tailored with attunement to your body, spirit, and the season.
A full Panchakarma spans 3, 5, or 7 consecutive days and includes five days of preparatory cleansing (Purvakarma), personalized herbal protocols, and a series of deeply purifying and rejuvenating treatments. These may include any of the therapies listed above.
Each day is accompanied by a nourishing Ayurvedic farm-to-table meal to gently ground your system, support digestion, and offer healing from the inside out.
This is a ritual of deep release — an invitation to rest, unravel, and be renewed from the root level outward.
The one-day Panchakarma is a powerful therapeutic reset. While it does not include internal therapies such as Basti, Nasya, or Swedana, it does include Shirodhara and can include Yoni Dhoopana upon request. This session is ideal for those seeking recalibration and nervous system support, and features warm herbal oil treatments, marma therapy, essential oils, and a deeply sensorial journey into rest and repair.
Each day of Panchakarma treatment is profound and immersive, lasting about 8 hours. An organic Ayurvedic Lunch of Kitchari is included each day. Full meal prep can also be arranged.

Panchakarma is a powerful ritual of purification and renewal — and timing is everything.
To protect your well-being and ensure the body can fully receive the benefits, Panchakarma is not administered during certain vulnerable or transitional states, including:
During menstruation
During acute illness or active infection
After invasive surgery (until fully recovered and cleared)
While undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
When feeling weak, depleted, or emotionally unstable
During severely Vata-aggravating weather
These are times when the body is already working hard to restore balance. Introducing detoxification therapies during such phases may overburden rather than support the system.
At RASA VEDA, your readiness — physically, mentally, and energetically — is honored above all. Panchakarma works best when received in a state of inner permission, stability, and trust.
